App Store Connect time zones: UTC vs Pacific Time
Updated 2026-11-03 · 2 min read
Short answer: App Analytics uses UTC. Sales and Trends shows UTC by default in the dashboard (you can switch it to Pacific Time), but downloaded Sales and Trends reports cover Pacific-time days. RevenueCat uses UTC. So the same day can show different totals in different tools.
Which tool uses which time zone
| Source | Day boundary |
|---|---|
| App Analytics | UTC |
| Sales and Trends (dashboard) | UTC by default, switchable to PT |
| Sales and Trends (downloaded reports / API) | Pacific Time |
Why it matters
Pacific Time is 7–8 hours behind UTC. An evening in California falls on the next UTC day. On a launch day, or when an ad starts at a set hour, the split can move a big chunk of downloads to a different date and make day-over-day comparisons look wrong.
How to compare fairly
- Pick one time zone for your own reporting and stick to it.
- Compare weekly totals when mixing sources.
- Don't judge yesterday until Apple's daily report has landed (generally by 8 a.m. PT the following day).
Questions
What time zone does the App Store Connect API use for sales reports?
Sales reports from the API are the same downloadable Sales and Trends reports, which cover Pacific-time days.
