Apple Search Ads spend, lined up against real revenue

Apple Search Ads is now called Apple Ads. Connect it and WhyItChanged pulls daily spend, impressions, taps and tap-installs per campaign and for your top keywords through the Apple Ads Platform API. It sits next to App Store proceeds and RevenueCat revenue, so you see cost per purchase and return on ad spend, not just cost per install.

Access it needs

An API user with the API Account Read Only role. Credentials are encrypted at rest and used read-only. How keys are handled.

Set it up

  1. In Apple Ads open Account Settings → User Management and invite a user with the API Account Read Only role (it can be your own second email).
  2. Sign in as that user, open Account Settings → API, and upload a public key you generated with openssl. Apple shows a Client ID, Team ID and Key ID.
  3. Paste those, your ad account ID and the private key into the Apple Search Ads connector.

Questions

Can I paste a client secret instead of the private key?

Yes. A pre-signed client secret works too. It expires within 180 days and WhyItChanged warns you before it does.

Does it change my campaigns?

No. It only reads reports. Kill rules notify you in Discord; you decide what to pause.
